A subsidy would be nice. I suspect it is too late to get that before
Wednesday, though. Carl Lowenstein has been looking into the iso stuff.
He told me they have some sort of lame MS Windows-based browser and
other issues.

Actually the only thing I find wrong with their Windows-based browser
is that it doesn't work at all on my LInux system. On the other
hand, the CD distribution "Best of Project Gutenberg" was built on a
Linux system, and works perfectly well through a Web browser like
Firefox.

I downloaded their "offline-package" to my laptop. It seems to mostly
work, albeit the interface is a little clunky. I don't know if we'll
have an internet connection at the exposition...

It has been several years since I downloaded the .iso for their "complete collection" DVD and even longer since I downloaded the image for their "best of collection" CD. During that time, they have reorganized most of their collection, providing links in their weekly or monthly newsletters to individual texts rather than just pointing you to a page where you can search alphabetically by author or title. There are about 10,000 titles on the Gutenberg site, many in multiple formats, but I haven't looked at them or tried to download anything for months. I've never tried to download the full set with their peer-to-peer setup. I just know they have lots of stuff and like to share. They've got a hell of a resource for schools but nobody seems aware of it.
