Don't forget psybnc, muh, and irssi-proxy. irssi-proxy is probably the
best one with which I've had experience. It Just Works(tm) and does so
quite well, I might add.
I played with BNC a while ago when I changed locations a lot (and
thought that I'd die if I missed some IRC conversation - I've since
learned that missing it makes me much healthier ;), and it worked as
advertised.
I never got bnc to work reliably. Oft it would just stop working
altogether, or stop allowing reattachments ... it's junk as far as I'm
concerned.
Really -- irssi-proxy is the way to go. Let me know if you want some
tips with configuration.
