Undoubtedly -- I only got into tubes and really learned how they work within the last 6 years or so.

They're still a great thing to learn. really makes you have a respect for the people who made the technology we all enjoy today happen.

Although, from what I remember reading, not too many of these car radios were actually built and shipped -- the transistor caught up by this point and was used instead. Correct me if I'm wrong :)
