Never in a million years would I ever try to run xp on a 233. I have

of a 200 line ANSI trying to load on my old bbs and the user was on a 300
baud modem. Sounds about the same speed.
How about running XP with 20MB ram and an Pentium Overdrive (486 socket)
clocked to 8 Mhz? :)

Those guys *truly* proved that the stated "Minimum System Requirements"
were overstated. That system, at barebones, had nearly incessant 100%
cpu utilization. But since that, apparently, is all that the barebones
system actually needs, then 233 MHz and 64 MB is clearly a gross
miscalculation for minimum "system" requirements. It's only if you want
to do anything besides just running the system that you need more.
It seems to me that the phrases ought to be modified to something like
"Recommend System No Less Than" or somesuch. But that would only serve
to take away some of the challenge.
