I've often wondered about something. What's to stop M$ from taking sections of Linux code and integrating it directly into their code? After compiling, how would anyone know?
This isn't the first time people have considered this. That's one of the reasons people wanted Microsoft to opensource Windows -- So that we could go in and make sure they didn't do that. But, alas, judges aren't tech-heads ... Honestly, since Microsoft has stolen or strong-arm bought everything else they've ever produced (with the possible exception of microsoft bob, but we *all* know where that turned out), it wouldn't surprise me in the least if microsoft were stealing OSS code and integrating it into their mickey-mouse OS.
Oh well. Eventually there will come a day when the likes of Microsoft won't be possible. When? Who knows. All we can do is help further our movement and hope that clueless people suddenly get a clue (unlikely as it may be).
eh, i digress. -kelsey -- [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-list
