As of a couple days ago I have configured MailScanner to reject .gif
attachments. I have not received a legitimate one in ages anyway. Just
edit /etc/MailScanner/filetype.rules.conf and add a line like this (all
one line with tab separated fields):


deny    gif     No gif attachments  GIF attachments are almost always
spam these days so we do not allow them.
