My experience with Bacula so far is very good. The client for windows that is available is very nice. For restores it shows the file / directory trees. I've completed a restore and several test backups.
I am also impressed with Bacula. I have been using it for over a year and do backups every night to external USB drives. But I detest the command line interface. If you ctrl-z it and then fg it gets all confused. And there is no interest in fixing that. No command completion, very bizarre navigation, etc. I am puzzled as to why so much time is put into other things but the basic interface is such a PITA. I am often tempted to write a python/curses based CLI but I am afraid to look into the protocol it uses to communicate with the director.
