How change desktop that XDM points to?
Read xdm(1) and pay close attention to the heading labeled, "SESSION PROGRAM"; in it you will find references to a file ~/.xsession and/or ~/.xinitrc (i normally keep the two hardlinked). Also, it will refer to a file in the DisplayManager*Session attribute, defaults to: /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xdm/Xsession -- this file contains session defaults.
Right now it points to GNOME but I'd like it to point to WindowMaker.
Sample .xinitrc/.xsession: #!/bin/sh exec > $HOME/.xsession-errors 2>&1 if [ -f $HOME/.Xdefaults ]; then xrdb -merge $HOME/.Xdefaults fi /usr/libexec/gnome-settings-daemon & xscreensaver -no-splash & xsetroot -solid rgb:27/47/57 fvwm2 & gkrellm -geometry +0-0 & exec xterm -title "LOGIN" Stick it in your home directory with mode 755 and you should be good to go. Good luck! -Kelsey -- [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-list
