Since I'm always installing updates on my Debian box, Tripwire IDS is daily reminding me of changes to my PC that require updating Tripwire box.
That is why I quit using it. You can not easily protect your tripwire db and always be updating it. It has been over 10 years since I tried it and gave up on it. I think SE Linux or LIDS or something is a better way to protect your box. You can also use rpm to check the signatures of packages.
