IS there a list/file somewhere that tells Linux
what modules to load at bootup?
(I removed a certain module and still get error messages
about that module not being able to load. I'm wondering
if I need to upgrade this list somewhere.)
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$ ll /etc/rc.d
He's looking for modules, not boottime scripts.
The kernel calls the file listed in /proc/sys/kernel/modprobe (which is
normally /sbin/modprobe) with the appropriate name that it (the kernel)
is looking for depending on the device or service
modprobe(8) says to look in /etc/modprobe.conf and /etc/modprobe.d
