That's what we're doing.  But they only exist for most of them.
Sometimes people don't get around to writing them for some stuff.
Sometimes they just can't.  It's a mess.  The written installation
instructions are often slightly outdated.  Whoever wrote them kept
saying "double click on the Visio icon", meaning the folder, "when the
Visio dialog prompts you", meaning when the folder is open, "double
click on the setup.exe icon".

i've never done it, but some ridiculously high-paid
windows weenie at work did it for all the standard software packages we
use. might be something to look into!

Yeah, the guy who wrote the ones we do have probably put a lot of
high-priced time in to it, but bless his high-priced heart, I say.
