Sure, it's possible.
In 1984, Reagan won every state except Minnesota (Mondale's homestate)
and D.C.
He almost won Minnesota as well (lost by 4000 votes or something) which
would have given him a clean sweep.
Hell, even Nixon got almost every state in '72.
California went Red with Reagan and with Bush Sr. It's been Blue since then.
Texas went Blue for Carter in '76.
