Urp, ssh on non-port 22. That's likely to be blocked by firewall rules somewhere.

Yes, you can ssh from one internal machine to another.

In fact, that's what you *should* do.

X11 forwarding will happily route the events through multiple ssh connections in tandem. That way you only have one box exposed on the net instead of 3.
