Hello all-
Information Technology and Software Engineering
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Managing Oracle on Linux
CSE-40934 Credit: 4 units
Database Administrators, Systems Administrators and Security Engineers
will gain a firm understanding of the components required to
successfully deploy an Oracle database on Linux. Learn how to
configure the Linux operating system for optimal performance with an
Oracle database. Also learn to tune the Oracle database to take
advantage of the Linux operating system and the Enterprise level
features of the OS. Basic administration OS tasks as they relate to
the database will also be covered: file system choices, automated
startup and shutdown scripts, network configuration, customizing the
database for Linux, and configuring Oracle Enterprise Manager.
Lectures are reinforced with hands-on practices designed to walk you
through the entire installation, tuning and configuration process.
Debbie McAuliffe, Manager of Student Services, will work with you to
re-enroll. Please call her to enroll in the course as I have left it
open for enrollment. Her number is 858-882-8004.
If we can get 3 or more students to enroll we can run the course.
Please round up your friends, co-workers, professional association
members, etc. We seem to have a lot of empowered students who want
to take this course. We are empowered as well to help you take this
course.
Thank you all,
Julie
