<music> Ta Da! My work has sent me home with a windoze laptop. No floppy drive but network connectivity. download to win expqand as image transfer to linux dd This seems simplest to me. As for your reading comprehension, I realized after posting that I left the windoze goal ambiguous. IAGAS, I'm going to turn the old laptop into a "VAG-COM" (google vag-com ross). This is a SW & cable device for reading/writing and adjusting the on-board computer that controls VWs or Audis. Dealerships charge $80 for telling you what an engine code is and > $500 for adjusting anything (which they often do wrong). My cost: $0 old laptop and win98 CD $20 used cable from a guy who sold his TDI $99 for the Ross SW-only full license Being able to adjust my injection timing and fuel flow -- priceless Among the monopolies we need to address IMHO are the data monopolies that manufacturers build into their products: printers, cars, anything with an aftermarket need for computer stuff. -- Lan Barnes Tcl/Tk Enthusiast SCM Analyst Linux Guy Biodiesel Brewer -- [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-list
