I know that this has been hashed out already, but I took a week off so
this is New to Me. I am only answering because I get to toss in some
cool shell tricks!

man -k and apropos do the same thing:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~]% cmp <(man -k ntp) <(apropos ntp) && echo They are the same
They are the same
