Here is some more info that I recently ran across (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=ibm&lndocid=PFAN-3QNQJN&velxr-layout=print ) Heat appears to be the main culprit in short batter life. IBM recommends that a new battrery should be fully charged before using it. A Ni-mh battery should be deep cycled three times before using it. On the other hand deep cycling and or full discharge is not recommended for lithium ion batteries. ----- Original Message ---- From: Randall Shimizu <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED]; Craig Fujimoto <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; ed brill <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Tuesday, August 29, 2006 1:28:59 PM Subject: Tips on battery life, reviving the dead Tips on battery life, reviving the dead (http://www.nytimes.com/2006/08/24/technology/24basics.html?ex=1314072000&en=58c571f0b4ae0ed8&ei=5088&partner=rssnyt&emc=rss ) This is a interesting article on extending laptop batter life. This useful, because I don't believe much has been said about the subject till. -- [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-list
