Yup. We've got it pretty much down to a science at the CSE Dept. at UCSD. so much so that bringing a new workstation or server online is usually just as simple as doing the kickstart and making sure the server is a member of the appropriate cfengine classes.

cfengine definitely does the heavy lifting for us.
