Price is always an issue, but a few bucks more for something that works
reliably is a good investment.
All replies accepted. Those based on personal experience particularly
treasured.
I've been using a Pioneer DVR-108 with K3b for better than a year with
no problems. It's the only DVD burner in the house, and has worked fine
in FC4 and (currently) in FC5. It's a bit more money than others, but I
find I generally get what I pay for anymore for PC hardware. I had a
Sony, but wasn't impressed after its short lifespan (as in: it died) of
only a couple of years. Based on that, I wouldn't buy another Sony.
As I really need at least one more burner on the LAN, I'll have no
hesitation buying another one of these, or whatever the current model is.
