I've seen 'em running the DOS app in M$Windows ; and I've started to see
the DOS app replaced with M$Windows applications... and the frequency of
"I can't help you, the computer is down" keeps going up.

Most of the banks seem to be running a Visual Basic front-end these
days, as has my Doctor's office.  The change seems to have been imposed
from above.

Phone carriers tend to be worried about keeping things working, it
