Because the people factor is pretty frickin' huge since these machines exist to serve people? I don't want the time on all of my LTSP desktops to be in GMT. I don't want myself or developers to have to remember to convert local times into UTC when we want a cron job to go off at 2am local time. There are lots of reasons why it is nice to have your Linux box use the local time. - -- Tracy R Reed Read my blog at http://ultraviolet.org Key fingerprint = D4A8 4860 535C ABF8 BA97 25A6 F4F2 1829 9615 02AD Non-GPG signed mail gets read only if I can find it among the spam. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.5 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Fedora - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFF7SdM9PIYKZYVAq0RApVLAJwNjMeJaAjjWOWBtB0FbI/kEgduVQCfeBBx X/9dWQcRW+hYSyhJVzMUeq4= =YSs1 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-list
