Thanks. I have really got the bug on this! Ya know how you find out more about yourself (but it's always the same thing)? One of the major things about microcomputers in the first place, and Linux in particular, that grabs me and holds me is the giving of POWER to ordinary people ... if they're willing to take it. Oracle Inc bleeding you white? Step aside, Big O, I got PostgreSQL (or MySQL)! M$ sucking the life out of you for VB or <gag> C#? Oh, la, lookee at what I can do with Tcl/Tk or even gcc! That kind of stuff just strokes me where I tickle. I originally got stoked over an Apple II with a CP/M card and dBASE II. We had 54k of RAM and TWO 126k floppy drives and thought we were _something_. Doesn't sound like much now, but in '80 it broke the strangle-hold the IT pros had on buisness SW for the little guy. If I may paraphrase, the OSS community treats DRM as damage and routes around it ;-) </all together now> MYTH MYTH MYTH MYTH BU-yah! -- Lan Barnes SCM Analyst Linux Guy Tcl/Tk Enthusiast Biodiesel Brewer -- [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-list
