I really sort of agree with you with this reservation: As with any other
body of thought, religions should have the ability to adapt, evolve, and
change without being accused of hypocracy or flip-flopping (such a stupid
term -- like changing your mind or learning from experience are bad
things).

But that gets pretty tough when the doctrine of continuous infallability
is in force. Ask W ;-)
