I assume by passion you (or he) means being horny. You (or he) are confusing sex with marriage. Getting married (the way our legal system works) just for the sex is usually a bad choice. Examples abound.


Pretty much, yes. But do *not* presume that he is suggesting that the "horny" person just jumps into marriage the way we more modern civilized people just jumps into the sack. That same author (Paul) writing to the same group (in a second letter) admonishes "Be not unequally yoked together with unbelievers". He is by no means suggesting marriage simply to satisfy horniness.

We are not confusing sex with marriage. You may not be able to fully grasp this, but the Creator of humanity also created sex for us and prescribed it as a part of marriage. Among other things, this was not to restrict us, but to release us from depravity.
