Marriage is
the solution to sexual urges. How is that anti-sex?
I assume by passion you (or he) means being horny. You (or he) are
confusing sex with marriage. Getting married (the way our legal system
works) just for the sex is usually a bad choice. Examples abound.
Pretty much, yes. But do *not* presume that he is suggesting that the
"horny" person just jumps into marriage the way we more modern civilized
people just jumps into the sack. That same author (Paul) writing to the
same group (in a second letter) admonishes "Be not unequally yoked
together with unbelievers". He is by no means suggesting marriage
simply to satisfy horniness.
We are not confusing sex with marriage. You may not be able to fully
grasp this, but the Creator of humanity also created sex for us and
prescribed it as a part of marriage. Among other things, this was not
to restrict us, but to release us from depravity.
