A quote from this Colorado outfit:
As with all reputable credit repair firms, we combine the expertise of
veteran credit specialists with the firepower of top-notch attorneys.
However, our experience goes far beyond a legal library, and our staff
knows more about credit than most lawyers. While fixing your credit
history is important and can be complicated, it seldom requires legal
intervention to clean up errors in your credit report data.
"Credit repair firm" = scam.
Not always.
There is nothing they can do that you cannot do yourself. All they can
do is challenge every negative item, with the hope that the party that
provided the information doesn't respond to the challenge.
No arguement from me. But they have the expertise that I do not. And,
for the monthly fee that I'm happy to pay them, they will do a much
better job than I ever could. The bureau's are not dumb. They can give
me the runaround and how would I even know? But this firm of experts
will know. And how do I know that they are experts? I don't really,
except that they have done a remarkable job, much better than if I had
attempted it myself, IMHO.
