The good news is I got MythFE working over the network. Tha other news is,
it pauses exery ten seconds or so for about a half second.
The back end is on a prism wireless connection configured vanilla.
Anything I can do to boost throughput? The router is d-link DI-624
"airplus xtreme". The FE is on 100 mb cat 5.
I've rarely found wireless to be fast enough for Myth.
If I've got a strong connection and no other traffic, it's acceptable.
But the minute something else transmits, all bets are off.
You could always try Carl's suggestion (from a ways back) and construct
a kind of parabolic type of dish for each antennae, effectively
strengthening the signal many fold.
You could also check to see if you've got an overloaded box.
If you are transcoding or something in the background, then watching TV
can be skippy on a box that is barely Myth-capable.
Parabolic enhancements probably won't help here. :-(
