Two search terms I wouldn't, as a newbie, have known.

Look, I know I'm whining, but I just don't want you to think I run to the
mailing lists without doing any homework. I spent the better part of two
days free time searching this and other stuff in the Myth docs I have. As
with all newbie searches, I would have been much more effective if I had
known what I was searching for and where it was stored, but I actually did
find some stuff.

For example, did you know that unless you override it on the command line,
Myth will transcode at the default quality for when the show was recorded,
not for when the transcoding is done? I didn't, but reading that almost
certainly saved you and the myth list from a frantic "help, transcoding
isn't working" message.

I can't imagine why it was designed that way.

Don't let my whining obscure how grateful I am for your support.

<note to self: must bank some karma somehow>
