What happens if their servers don't come back up before it's too late?
Also, exactly when does it become too late if filing electronically?

They were back up by 7:30pm. If one had already filed a tax return
electronically and it was "postmarked" on time by Intuit, there seems
to be an additional grace period of a small number of days while
waiting for the Feds to acknowledge the receipt of the electronic
filing.
