All the hardware is now in and tested. So it's time to get SparKPLUG
III up and running so we can replace the aging SpraKPLUG II. Anyone
who is interested in seeing what the club acquired with the raffle
ticket proceeds is welcome to attend. The meeting will be from 7:00 to
9:00 PM in room 306 of the San Diego County Office of Education.
It will be your only chance to view in person our new server before it
goes into co-location.
The new server has the following specs:
Pair of dual-core 64-bit Xeon 5130's
4Gb ECC RAM
A mirrored pair of 400GB SATA-2 w/ NCQ Hard Drives
All in an Intel Case with Intel Motherboard.
It should really serve the club's needs for another 5 years or so and
allow our web site to be more responsive.
So if you have want to get a peek at our new server, come to the
meeting this Thursday.
For clarification, this is not the General Meeting, which is still
scheduled for May 10. This is a special meeting just for the
installation of our new server.
