You had me right up to this statement. Because there are "people" and
there are "people", and the ones in the US who sign checks (suits, PHBs,
whatever the kids are calling them now) are ... well, they're the core 28%
;-) that will never get off the M$ boat because they've already shown that
they are incapable of making a rational decision concerning their best
interests.
Actually, that's not true.
Those PHB types are *very* good at calculating *their* short term
interest. It just rarely coincides with that of the company.
Their short term interest is "don't get blamed." Simply ponying up
money to Microsoft and letting someone else fight the battle feeds that
just fine.
