There's a webdav module to apache that can use Apache's security mechanisms... so if you have Apache running somewhere, and you're happy with the security that Apache provides, getting apache to do the WebDAV thing isn't too hard. There's a Java WebDAV standalone server out there, but it doesn't play nice with a sandbox (custom classloader, IIRC), so I didn't look too far into it. I don't know what other security mechanisms it provided, as it didn't pass the first hurdle. -- It's been almost a year since I looked at WebDAV.
