I've never run Debian, being a Slackware, Redhat/CentOS or Gentoo kinda guy, but I did manage to install and understand Ubuntu pretty much from the get-go. So, installing Ubuntu should go pretty easy for most folks provided they have middle of the road hardware. I installed an a P4/1.4 with 1GB RAM, Tyan MOBO of some flavor. Everything just worked, even sound. Now, Ubuntu is pretty funny when it comes to non-open source codecs and things, but that's pretty easy to get around. -- Mark Schoonover, CMDBA [EMAIL PROTECTED] Cell: 619-368-0099 * software development * systems/database administration * networking * security * -- [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-list
