Then use KDE. -todd
I think it all depends on how the machine is going to be used. Having used both Kubuntu and Ubuntu, I really don't care one way or the other. Yes, they are both different, but for my workstation which I use mainly for dev and admin functions, the GUI isn't all that important. When I need to install something, synaptic handles all those details that I don't care to deal with. Since I don't dev for the desktop, I don't get into all those KDE vs Gnome issues that others might run into. In any case, if the wife likes something that Mike doesn't for technical reasons, I can pretty much guarantee his wife won't care about those technical reasons. If it works for her, it works - technical reasons why one way is better than the other be damned. If pushed hard enough, she might even dislike Linux altogether, which is something we don't want. I say to use whatever works for her, if Mike is looking for a divorce, tell her gvim is the wordprocessor! -- Mark Schoonover, CMDBA [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://marksitblog.blogspot.com Cell: 619-368-0099 Database/System Administration * Software Development * -- [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-list
