Hello, everyone I want to thank you very much for your kind answers to my message regarding the need of a USB external enclosure and/or an AC converter for my old one.
Things have changed now, because the HD I need to connect is no longer a 400 GB disk, but a 200GB disk. This is a SATA disk, and I used to have it conected to my (very old) laptop using the external enclosure. The issue is that the enclosure was demanding a lot of energy, and eventually, the heat melted the wire that was conected to the wall. So, there was the explosion I've told you about before, and the short circuit, and the AC adaptor was useless. I have no idea of how to count the number of pines of the round thing that conects the adaptor to the enclosure, or what information can I extract from the box. I hope that I can at least see in the fest what kind of hardware I need. Thank you very much for your patience. -- Best regards, Ariadna -- [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-list
