For years, I would just add routes to /etc/rc.d/rc.local and that worked
just fine.

I've discovered, though, that restarting the network service clears the
roputing table, and obviously does not re-read /etc/rc.d/rc.local
Googling led me to mentions of /etc/sysconfig/static-routes  I found
references to the format for that file and created it, but my routes
still are not brought back when the network service restarts.

So... what is the correct way to keep persistent routes in Red Hat-ish
Linux?
