What a funny coincidence! I don't read linux-kernel all that often but just seconds ago before I opened your mail I was reading it and came across the thread "Thinking outside the box on file systems" in which a complete nutcase named Marc Perkel starts a thread on linux-kernel about how crummy and narrow minded the kernel developers are and how great his ideas are. He thinks the other developers should code up his ideas for him and when they don't and instead point out fatal flaws he calls them pessimists. Then he starts another thread called "The vi editor causes brain damage". This guy is a real piece of work.

It is this Marc Perkel who Al Viro is responding to and Al Viro is the only recognized kernel developer to reply. I'm sure the others won't touch this guy with a ten foot pole for fear of encouraging him or lending him legitimacy.
