The "guarantee" is probably a legal guarantee in the "If you use our
product to do document management, we guarantee that it meets the
requirements as laid out in paragraph 4, subsection B, of some obscure
Federal records management law that you've never heard of".
There are dozens of programs that integrate with Exchange, Sharepoint, etc
that feature automatic archiving, automatic scheduled deletion, encryption
and the like.
A lot of them are turnkey, in that you install them, point them at your
Exchange server and can be reasonably compliant with the appropriate laws.

Doing the same for a large generic mail system would probably require
rolling your own or contracting consultants.
