Correct. First set up an account with dyndns.org. If you're using a Linksys, or m0n0wall or one of a number of other common routers as your gateway to the internet, check its web interface for a section on DynDNS. If you're lucky, it will have one and your router can take care of updating the dyndns.org record when your IP changes.

If not, then you'll need one of the update clients:
https://www.dyndns.com/support/clients/

For Linux, you'll find that most distributions provide ddclient, so it should be as easy as a yum/apt install. Once installed, read through the config file as it should be pretty self explanatory. If not, post back!
