Dave,

I have a PS3 loaded with the YellowDog distro for PS3. Its fun to play around with but not terribly useful. The 256MB memory limitation (non-expandable) is a not much room to play in and ironically X isn't accelerated which makes running in a desktop/X environment really slow and cumbersome.

I have some bio apps that take advantage of the Cell processor. Frankly its more fun watching the Stanford protein folding application that was written for Sony's PS3OS and runs as an application in the native Sony PS3 environment.
