I have 2 machines in F8, a clean install and an upgrade where only /home
and /usr/bin/local (very little in it, mostly scripts) were retained. Both
are such a mess I'm thinking of rolling back.

The fresh install is the machine which can't locate anything on USB. I
grant you, I haven't yet taken the responses to my questions on that
peoblem to the site and hammered at it, but ... sheesh! ... isn't USB out
of the box kind of an important thing?

On the second, the fonts are all tiny to microscopic in areas I can't
understand, like Firefox. Is this some clash between the
/home/.../.firefox configs and the latest FF?

I hate to be spoiled, but dammit, the smoothness of recent upgrades has
spoiled me.
