Let me know if it's something you may be interested in OR if you know someone who may be interested (referral fee paid for a successful hire) *--- About The Position ---* *Duties: *Serves as primary operating-system level administrator for the Linux and Solaris systems that run our web and email services. Contributes to design and support of all campus IT infrastructure, including mail, web, archival storage and networking services. Must have a broad background in system integration of diverse technologies, application level support, and web-based systems including design and publishing. *Education Required: *Strong preference for a candidate with four year university degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field-- or equivalent relevant experience in lieu of degree. *Experience: *Ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of RHEL (Red Hat Linux) system administration or similar variants (e.g., Centos); experience with postfix and spamassasin; disk storage hardware expertise (RAID); familiarity with Apache; experience with Solaris 8/9/10; system tuning experience. Other desirable skills include Veritas netbackup knowledge, Windows/Mac experience, SAN experience and web-based application development (LAMP). Must have experience supporting large (500+) user environment where system and application scaling issues become important.
