Mostly because there are several hundred subscribers to this list, and our
bandwidth is donated. So out of consideration for our benefactors we don't
allow attachments. Also attachments can hid malware, but that's a minor
consideration.
Someone else posted several ways you can make your attachments available, just
putting a url in the mail.
