You mean like those idiots that have to be completely animated while they talk to a person that can't see them? I really love the a*&^$#*S that figure that since traffic has come to a crawl during rush-hour, it's time to call someone on the phone and have a nice conversation to take their mind off the long arduous drive!
While I don't mind a law requiring handsets, I do have a problem outlawing cell phones in general. The problem is that I know a few people who can talk on the phone safely while driving. It's real obvious if you call them, since they're focused more on the driving than the conversation. For myself, there is only a small set of people that I will try to talk to if I'm driving, those who can deal with the fact that they aren't the most important my brain is dealing with. It's mostly a matter of if I can say "hold on" will they just shut up and wait, realizing that I need to focus more of my attention on driving. The problem is that there seem to be plenty of people that can't even do this while driving _not_ on the cell phone.
