Here is a tool and a very nice article on undeleting from ext3 [found from blurb on lwn.net]
HOWTO recover deleted files on an ext3 file system Carlo Wood, Mar 2008 http://www.xs4all.nl/~carlo17/howto/undelete_ext3.html It compiles and works on F7. Don't expect a full-blown norton-like program. You _do_ have to know what you are doing. And note also: ideally, it's best if you realize immediately that an unintended delete has occurred, and prevent _any_ further writes to the filesystem ASAP, of course (eg by unmounting). I downloaded the source from http://xs4all.nl/~carlo17/xyz/ext3grep-0.0.2.tar.gz but that will probably change as time goes by. The google groups site mentioned in the article is recommended for following further developments. http://groups.google.com/group/ext3grep Regards, ..jim -- [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-list
