cdparanoia is _very_ slow, the default settings re-read the data dozens of
time.  This is needed for very old cdrom drives.  You might try either
cdparanoia '-Z' or 'cdda2wav'.

'abcde' <http://www.hispalinux.es/~data/abcde.php> is a script (sh) that
combines all of the steps of ripping, encoding, looking up tracks in the
freedb.org database, etc.
