You sure it will cost that much? UPS has gotten a lot cheaper and smaller in recent years. Depends on your needs of course but for home use I picked up one of these:

Two years ago. It's cheap ($99) and works great. It has easily saved me $99 in lost productivity over the past month alone as we have blown circuit breakers in my house 3 times due to having some roommates who have an unusual amount of gear running.
