I agree... but whenever there was an issue with that, Murphy's Law says
it would be at a critical moment with the customer standing right there,
and it would be 3AM our time.  And guess who they'd be calling?

There are some other tasks I've done in a manner similar to that.  Maybe
that's exactly what I'll do.

AHAHAHAHA!!!  FWIW, I don't necessarily know that the field engineers
are incompetent... I just find it's safer to assume that they are and to
act accordingly.  It's very possible that one or more of them could
handle PXE booting from their laptop.  But, if that were the case...
wouldn't they already be doing that? ;-)
