Sorry, yes it was too harsh.  It's just frustrating when it extends to
people telling me that I need to "learn" to ignore the TV, or something
like that.

So you cannot. I can. Sorry you have this problem.

I wouldn't go so far as to call it a problem.  I'm sorry that other people
seem to ignore everything that goes on around them and miss much of what
happens.  When I'm in a good environment, I've found I'm able to
concentrate better than many people are in any environment.

A lot of neurological differences are about differing tradeoffs.
