the only thing I can come up with is a desire to stay x86 for some reason.
I too thought ARM would have made a better target but then again, they
did need to do a bunch of work in the driver levels of a few devices and
just maybe, that figured keeping it x86 made it easier all around. AMD
might have helped "sway" them too since they are on the Board IIRC.
