All, So, I am thinking of going HD and at the same time reclaiming some of the space that the tube TVs I have now eat up in both my bedroom and den. I am thinking 40" in the bedroom (to be 3ft past the foot of the bed. Maybe a little bigger (52") in the den which will be about 7.5ft from ones head when watching. I don't feel I need high-end. But, I'd like not to see too much if any back-light when the screen is supposed to be black. It's so hard to tell a difference between the units at Fry's when I just went to look. Are Samsung's OK ? The price seems right. :o) I am also not sure what to do with all of the components that are now under or beside the systems. I am hoping to reclaim some of the depth of the existing systems. Any thought or advice from those that have gone before me ?
